Antique large steam locomotive chest restored to its former glory. Measures 40" X 23 1/2" X 27", with the original compartments built into the lid. All original oak bands and refinished original hardware. Constructed with antique square nails. Faux aged finish on actual copper sheets built into the lower levels where some natural rust had occurred.Rolls from side to side on original wheels.No handles on sides and lock has been deactivated for child safety.
Fun fact: The reason the chests were made with a domed top is to allow oxygen to fill the top above the opening. In case the ship is looted? The log would float and be salvageable or eventually wash ashore. This beauty has the romantic look and feel of a real pirate chest!
